It was really a big surprise for me, and it was just sitting there in my backlog since 2016. It is a labor of love and I can't praise it enough. I was truly amazed at the value here for the amount of content, the devs are still updating it regularly, and even released a major piece of DLC about 3 months ago. The base game is only 3$ at the moment for a few more days.

A simple way that I tell my friends about the game is that it reminds me of the PS3 game "MAG", in top down view. The game allows you to call reinforcements, airstrikes, etc.

Sometimes, we lose the games too, even with a server full of players, which in my opinion is a testament to how smart the a.i in this game is. Strategy is essential to win a game, and I usually follow close behind veteran players who know what they are doing to win the game. Later on you can unlock body armor so that you can take a few more than just a couple of hits before dying. It takes some time to get use to the game so that you can learn to strategize and not die as much. They can strategize and flank you, they drive vehicles really well, and they will kill you. Now the a.i is one of the smartest I've encountered in any game. Now the player base is not the biggest, but I usually have no problem finding 1-2 full servers at a time. People play the game online against the a.i. Now the game has PVE and PVP servers, though no one almost ever play PVP. I played about 30 hours just in the past 3 days (help that I am not working right now due to a foot injury), I cannot remember the last time I have been so hooked to a game! The premise of the game is a massive top down battlefield like game, they have a very beefy campaign, Zombie mode even, but where the meat of the game is, is in the multiplayer. It was a surprise for me as I rarely play game more than 2 hours at a time. Now coop games is my jam and this game really scratches that itch. I had it in my library since 2016 and played it a bit back then but didn't really get too much into it. Running with Rifles is a game that came out on steam back in 2015.
